HISTORICAL WEDDING AT COMMISSION

  First wedding ever held at the Historical Commission County Museum in Anahuac.

The Wedding was held inside the Chambers County Historical Commission Museum/Archival Building at 2:00 P.M., Saturday 09, 2010.

Conducting the Double-Ring Ceremony was Rev. Ed Hillyer, a retired Methodist Minister, and member of the Chambers County Historical Commission.

Attending the historic wedding event were Ray Kelley’s parents, Ray & Velma Kelley, of Wallisville, and Christie Moore’s parents, father, Perry & Susan Crain, of Baytown, Texas, and her mother, Deanne Crain, of Liberty, Texas along with approximately 32 family members, guests and Commission members attended the Ceremony and Reception at the Museum.

Historical Commission members attending dressed in different period clothing, ranging from a Scottish Bagpiper, Victorian era, the Civil war era, Early Western attire, and the early 1900’s.

The Bride and Groom, as well as family members and guests, were appreciative of the historic setting and attire of the commission members, and all expressed a desire to return at a (warmer) time and tour the historic sites and the museum with all of its collection of artifacts, materials and displays.
