The historic Thomas Jefferson Chambers Home in Anahuac is currently undergoing some much needed repairs in order to fix damage caused by Hurricane Ike and to refurbish wear from the many years of existence. The work is being performed by Building Galveston, Inc. DBA Building Solutions under a $85,122 contract recently rewarded by the Chambers County Commissioners Court.

Following the restoration, the Chambers County Historical Commission plans to furnish the home and make it available for tours at least one Saturday each month. The home is located on Cummings Street next to the Chambers County Library.
